Our story

A purposeful approach

A boutique dance studio in Winnipeg, dedicated to an elevated dance experience for ages 2 and up.

Welcome to The Dance Method

More than steps and routines

Dance is more than just steps and routines. We believe in building a supportive community, fostering adaptability across styles, and emphasizing performance techniques — with a focus on the individual journey of each dancer.

The Dance Method caters to both the recreational and competitive dancer. Bridging various dance styles and fundamentals, we ensure every student — whether dancing for the pure joy of it or training to compete — benefits from top-tier instruction.

Our focus on team building, versatility, and performance methods creates a rich, inclusive, and positive environment for all.

A space where every dancer feels included and valued.
From the studio to the stage, the experience at TDM is shaped by connection, care, and purpose.

Our core values

We focus on what moves dancers forward — clear instruction, strong technique, and meaningful performance.

This is training with intention. Guided by our core values, it's how dancers build skill, confidence, and presence — both in the studio and on stage.

01

Excellence through intention

Every class, rehearsal, and performance has a clear purpose — helping you grow as a dancer and performer in meaningful ways.

02

Growth over perfection

We celebrate progress, effort, and resilience. Mistakes are part of the process, and every step forward matters.

03

Performance with heart

We help you connect movement with meaning — so when you dance, you tell your story.

04

Community & commitment

This is more than a team — it's a place where dancers show up for each other, share in the work, and build lasting connections.

05

Versatility as a strength

We train across styles — ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop — because adaptable dancers are strong dancers.

That's what a purposeful approach means.

Land acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we are situated on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories and recognize the harms and mistakes of the past. We commit to continued learning, listening, and action. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work, live, learn, and dance on Treaty One land.
